Sanxia Biluochun Green Tea
Our pre-Qingming harvest of Sanxia Biluochun yielded a beautiful green tea, adorned with many tippy white buds. Once rinsed, you can smell a distinct aroma of freshly cut grass, sweetened mung bean paste, and a delightful hint of licorice. The first round, while not overly complex, has a pleasant taste of sweet mung bean paste, and produces a tea liquor that is brightly green with yellow undertones. The second round is grassier tasting, but does not sacrifice any of the sweetness found in the first round of tasting. In fact, the sweetness steadily increases on the finish and becomes reminiscent of freshly squeezed sugar cane juice. The third round becomes even more complex on the palate. Now, there is an enticing flavor of candied chestnuts, with grassy and vegetal undertones that become more obvious and rich as the finish progresses.
